Why do some people not like cats?
I ask this as I have a partner who loves cats and I think I am a human version of a somewhat tame feral cat. I have a hard time getting close to people, I need people consistently there for and me for them before I can let down some of my many walls, I always try to do stuff by myself and like my alone time. If I get mad however, this is no fun or the person or people I might be mad at. Let's just say the claws come out and my pen is mightier than my sword.
However, I sort of have a theory about those who abhor cats (if your allergic, their nothing you can control to help that) and I think these people think they are going to be able to well control and determine their behavior. Yeah, I don’t think cats work like that they need consent and to smell you before petting them seems like a wise idea. Also, if you invade your space and they don't want you too prepared to get clawed and bitten on. These cats will do things that they want most of time regardless of who it passes off, cats don't tend to have tact, their are like an unfiltered person who says what they think, social mores be dammed.
I think another reason for this is that cats are kind of like people, you never know what to expect from them. You rarely experience with dogs or other pets like a fish. The non suicidal kind I once had a gold fish that was suicidal and wanted to be set free one way or another. You can't control or know what to expect out of people no matter how well you think they know them, and what secrets have been, their are always more layers to the onion. So for all of those who are anti-cat livers out there, this is for you. However, if anyone wants to challenge me on this theory and have a decent defense to back themselves, than I am all ears.
